Their designs and creations.
I think they thoroughly enjoyed getting messy with pumpkin guts! Yuck! (Thankfully we only do this once a year!)
Makell was so proud of her pumpkin!
FYI. Earlier that day I found and easy way to clean the inside of a pumpkin out! You cut and make a hat in the top like normal. Then you cut a hole in the bottom of the pumpkin as well(not to big)! All the icky stuff comes right out! When you are finished just sit the pumpkin over a candle and they look great!! You don't have to worry about the candle tipping over or burning out quickly! (The kids thought it was fun to put their hands through the pumpkins!)

A Day at the Farm!
On Friday the kids didn't have school and Adam had to work so we decided to spend the day with Matt, Daniel, and Janette down on the farm! Things are a little"under construction" at the farm right now and the cement truck was scheduled to pour footings for a shed and a storage pad. Janette did a great job showing the men how to work!! ( hahaha) For a long time I thought only little boys liked big trucks and getting dirty but I have to say our girls are right along with them at times! The more dirty they become the more fun it is! The girls are fascinated with cement trucks! Makell especially! She wanted to be right in the middle of it all! Unlike last year no rework was necessary! (Last year Makell decided to adventure out in the middle of "wet" cement when no one was looking and got stuck up past her ankles!!) We all got a good laugh! I found out something new about Kaitlyn. She is terrified of heights! She didn't think playing on top of the hay bales were as much fun as the rest of us!! I think there are endless possibilities of finding things to do at the farm! We took several 4-wheeler rides around the fields, tried to feed and play with the gold fish in the water trough, fed the cows, played hide and go seek, and of course had to supervise Matt and Daniel!!(hahaha) Didn't do much with the pigs. To stinky for us!! Of course at the end of the day they were able to put their hand prints and names in the cement! Thanks for the fun day at the farm!!

"Family Night" Fun!
Last evening for Family Night we visited the pumpkin patch! We enjoyed a wagon/hay ride out to the pumpkin field. The kids took off running in search of the perfect pumpkins! Adam even did a little searching himself(hahaha)! As you can tell there were several to choose from! After the kids picked their pumpkins we road back to the barn where we had some yummy ice cream!! The girls loved playing on the tractor and wagons! Of course when it was time to leave they didn't want to go! Next week our fun activity with be turning the pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns!!

"Fruits" of our labors!
What a busy time of year! It seems like one thing after another! I guess it's "crunch" time to get everything done before the weather turns cold and we start the hibernation process for winter! I have to say , "What would I do without my mother!!" My mom can do pretty much anything! She is amazing! I asked her several weeks ago if she would help me bottle pears (hoping that she would YES)! And of course without any hesitation she said, "I would love to! What day do you want to start!" My mom is so giving of herself and her time! She is such a wonderful example of service!! My mom came and spent the day pealing, packing, and bottling pears with Makell and I. We ended up doing two large batches which I thought would last most of the winter months(with the other bottled fruit) until the kids ate a whole bottle for dinner the next night in a matter of minutes! They LOVED them!! I am thinking they might not last as long as I intended. Maybe there is more bottling in my near future!!
