Phase Two...

Can you say... deja vu! That is what Kourt has been feeling lately. She just started her last phase with braces. The orthodontist said it should only be six to eight months. Big relief for Kourtney, especially after the achy teeth set in. She is hoping it will be the fastest six month of her life! :)

Tuacahn

While we were in southern Utah for grandpa's birthday, several of us had the opportunity to see The Little Mermaid at Tuacahn. The girls were thrilled and thought it was even better that they were able to see it with several of their cousins. I have to say I thought it was fabulous! I sat next to Makell and she was in "awe" practically the whole time. In the beginning, water rushed down over the rocks to cover the stage. Makell leaned over and whispered to me, "Mom, is that real water"? She just couldn't believe what she was seeing. If you have the chance to go, do it! I think it's the best one I have seen. With it being several hours long and after a long day at the pool, some of the little one's just could keep their little eyes open through it all. Makell is still talking about it!

Grandpa Heaton turns 90!

Grandpa Heaton celebrated his 90th birthday this year, and the family had an Open House and dinner to honor and celebrate with him! It was great to spend time with the extended family! Grandpa was on cloud nine! Grandma said he had been looking forward to this event for months! We enjoyed decorating the church with Teresa in preparation for the Open House! It was perfect for grandpa and the occasion! It looked like a little bit of sunshine. Just the thing grandpa is known for! There was a steady line of people (two hours) that came to congratulate him. He is a very well liked and admired individual. Adam and Maresa made all the guests ice cream cones as they went to visit and mingle with one another. Later that evening we held a family dinner in grandpa's honor. The food was fabulous with BBQ ribs, chicken, and pulled pork. I loved reading through the memory book that was made for grandpa. Many people wrote down a memory about grandpa. To my amazement every one's remarks were different. It was awesome to see what kind of an effect an individual can have on others, and not really know until later on in life. It was such a fun event and I'm so glad we were apart of it! Happy Birthday grandpa!

The Contortionists!

I walked out into the garage tonight and saw Adam lying in his Corvette like this. I asked him if he was working on flexibility or thinking about trying out a new career as a contortionists. His position looked so uncomfortable, and he confirmed that it was. :)

I like to refer to Adam's Corvette as the "The Big Boy Toy". He is serious when he says he's going to work on his car!

Out

Remember those times, after a long venture in the car and wanting nothing more than to close your eyes and drift off into deep sleep? Man, what I would give to be able to sleep in the car like that! She has it figured out!

Dad had a Birthday!

As much as Adam didn't want it to come, June 1st snuck up on him! We surprised him at work with his own personal "Love Sack". We gathered some of his favorite things and made coupons to go along with each item. Adam loves when Kourtney curls her hair, so she wrapped up a pack of curlers and tagged it with a coupon that said, "Good for one day of curling my hair". Kaitlyn gave him a laughy taffy stick that said, "Good for one good laugh or joke". Makell's personal coupon was a bag of Hershey Kisses with a coupon, "Good for hugs and kisses when ever you want". The kids love going to Adam's office. Over memorial day weekend the girls asked if the family could take a picnic to his office, and of course you can imagine what his response was. :) The girls got their chance to have a picnic at the office when we brought a birthday lunch for Adam and ate it with him.

Later that night after softball games we took Adam to Texas Roadhouse. I guess there are perks to getting older... you get to pick your favorite restaurant! Can you tell he loved sitting in the saddle with everyone giving him their friendliest Texas Yeeeehaw!

Our Annual Campout

As school comes to an end, it means it is time for our annual camp out. This year our camp out was minus the camping out. ;) It has been so cold and rainy that there hasn't been a dry night to do it. If it was up to the girls they would have slept out in the rain. Thank goodness Adam and I get to make that decisions! The camping out thing will have to happen at a later date. We decided that we would still do our campfire with roasted hot dogs, marshmallow's, and star burst. Adam introduced us to starburst a few years ago. He went to a fathers and sons campout and found out you can't have a campfire without starburst. Ever since then it is a must. I have wondered if this is a total Utah thing? It was so cold out that even being around the fire wasn't warm enough. Everyone had a blanket and listened to each other tell silly stories! I love that our little family has already formed special family traditions!
