X-Mas Lights Parade!

Friday night we attended our annual city Christmas Light Parade. The kids love this! I have to admit I think I like it just as much as they do. Adam's favorite part is still the end. I don't think that will ever change! Normally it gets pretty chilly out but this year it was fairly pleasant. The kids spotted a few different Santa's in the parade that confused Makell. When Kaitlyn noticed the big red coat and white beard at the end she ran over to me and asked if that was the "real" Santa. I think Santa is the high light of the parade for them. This event makes me feel like the Christmas Holiday has began!

BLACK FRIDAY!

Some people think we are crazy! Adam thinks I have totally lost my mind! The Christmas shopping officially began this morning around 3:30 a.m.! Janette, Megan, Camille (Megan's friend), and I set out to gather the deals of the season! It's all about team work! I can say we were successful ! I believe everyone was able to get everything on their lists! Adam went with me one year has has refused to ever do it again! I love to tease him about being a "fun hater"! He always comes back with the response of how we have such a different perception of fun! I stopped at home for a few minutes Friday morning to drop off a few things and he told me I was scaring him because I had this crazy adrenalin look on my face! I had to remind him of all the money we were saving:)! The morning was totally worth it! I say if you are going to do it, do it ALL at once!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! It's that time of year once again! Wow! Do I have a lot to be thankful for! As I reflect back over this past year our family has been extremely blessed. This year has been filled with so many wonderful events! Life is GREAT! It's also been a year with a few trials. As Adam and I look back and discuss things we recognize and realize they were blessings as well! It's crazy how we don't see it like that as we are in the middle of a situation. Around this time every year I like to gather as a family and list five things we are most thankful for. I love to see how the lists change as the kids get older and understand more. So this year our lists went like this:

Kourtney was thankful for her body, the world, her family, our home that keeps her safe, and food to eat. Kaitlyn was thankful for her friends, her family, food/water, her home, and church. Makell was thankful for babies, toys, her room, her family, and doctors. Adam was thankful for his family, the gospel, his job, wife-me:), and the freedoms we enjoy. My list consisted of Adam and the girls, the gospel, the privilege to be a wife and mother, the everyday modern conveniences, and good health.

This year was our turn to celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday with my family. We all got together at "grammy greats" to enjoy a yummy dinner and lots of visiting. I am extremely grateful for such wonderful parents! They are always doing so much for us!

Ready or Not...

Winter has arrived! The first "official" snow storm that actually stuck to the ground welcomed the kids to a great day of playing in the snow! They sure look excited but I'm not quite sure I am. I have to keep reminding myself that it is November:)!

This is only the beginning of many more days playing in the soft white fluffy stuff:)!

Beauty Is....

Kourtney entered the Reflections Contest this year at school. This years theme was "Beauty Is...". The students were to come up with an idea of what signified beauty to them in a specific field. Kourtney chose the field of Film/Video. She decided to make a movie about grandpa's farm and explained how it related to beauty. She twisted uncle Matt's arm to be in her video. She filmed some of her favorite things on the farm like equipment, animals, and interviewed uncle Matt. She even had a small clip of a cow pie and said to some may think this is beauty but she didn't! I guess the statement is true when they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder:)! She had so much fun! A few weeks after turning it in she found out she took third place and went on to compete district wide! We are so proud of her! Great Job Kourt!
Kaitlyn also entered the Reflections contest at school this year. She chose to enter the photo/photography field. With it being Fall time Kaitlyn decided she wanted to do something outdoors. Grandpa was bringing cows home from the canyon that weekend so Kaitlyn wanted her beauty theme to represent the changing colors and the new baby calves. Kaitlyn, Makell, and I went for a four-wheeler up threw the trees and she took pictures of different scenes as she sat on the back. I think she snapped some absolutely beautiful pictures. They are some of my favorites! We drove in through some thick trees and she spotted a deer that stood up and just stared at us. She snapped several pictures before it finally ran off. Great Job Kaitlyn!

Oh No!

Time to hide the Halloween candy!!!
Two suckers at once!

I had asked Makell why on earth she was trying to eat two suckers at once? She told me that she didn't want to give all her candy away!

Let me explain:

Our dentist has this GREAT idea for the kids around Halloween. He tells the kids that if they bring half (not all of it like Makell thinks) of their Halloween candy into his office he will in return put their name into a drawing for gift cards such as Toys-R-Us ,movie tickets, and other prizes. He and his staff then donate all the candy they have collected to organizations where other kids didn't have the opportunity to go trick-or-treating. One year they donated it to the children's burn center in SLC. I think it is such a wonderful idea of sharing and it totally saves the teeth:)!
I guess she thought the quicker she ate it the less she would have to give away.
